prairie home companion and the garden

I am in a sleepy happy state today. VI is currently talking to her newest toy that is her new best friend.. its a demon stuffed animal. but she just loves it. she can chew on his tentacles and alleviate her teething pain. Last night cory gave me my mothers day present early. He remembered a gardening kit that ive been wanting but always forget to pick up. actually he found a better one than the one i was looking at. Hes just amazingly thoughtful. anyways, the kit has a gardening pad for my knees, a foldable sun hat (which amused both of us to no extent. we have an elderly neighbor named vicki that has a collection of sun hats, or hats in general. so now im one step closer to vicki. lol), an apron!, really good breathable gloves, and of course my tools and a mesh bag. I need to get more plants, my seedlings didnt really make it. Im still learning. lol.

Im determined to be a jill of all trades at my home. Ive gotten the cleaning down. Im raising my daughter. I cook and bake for everyone. I sew and craft. I am determined to have chickens at one point and at least one milking cow. I want fresh foods for my children and myself. We just are old fashion like that i guess. I feel as though I am a dying breed. Most girls my age dont know the first thing about sewing. Most girls hate cooking and baking. Most girls dont have the pride that i do being able to have a baby on my side and still make a three course meal and keeping my house clean and gardening. I take immense pride in this. I feel as though we've lost some way. were suppose to do everything and be successful at it. Im not going back to college. Im not going to be a "career" woman. but I am going to be working so, that it will seem like i have three full time jobs. But the difference? I will be immensely happy. I just hate how some people look down on me as though im taking the easy way out. or that im not a feminist. or whatever else you could think of along those lines. those people dont know how much work it really does take.

Im listening to prairie home companion right now, I just remembered that i could listen to the archive of shows online! I know Im a dork! but Its one of my guilty pleasures. i love the story telling and the amusement i get from these stories.

well I have a babe that is trying to get my attention by saying "mmmm mmmm mmm" its her way of saying ma ma. I love it. I love this life. <3

In the beginning there was...

After much consideration.. Ive decided to start a blog.. Why? Because I have so much emotion just boiling inside right now.. I am absolutely in love with life. I really am. This is definitely the first time in my life that I am absolutely happy. A lot has happen to get me to this point.. seriously a lot. so let's start at the beginning.

When I was little my parents had a very tumultuous relationship. constant fighting, drinking, screaming, yelling, discontent in a very small town home. My dad was an alcoholic. My mom was trying to raise me the best she could. But in the end, the got a divorce. My mom wanted more out of life. My dad had his redneck side and enjoyed little things.

Some of the best memories Ive ever had from my childhood were the ones right after their split.

My mother did the girlie things with me and my dad did the tomboy things with me..

my dad disappeared in my life around 5th grade.. this will be a huge center of discontent for a long long time.

but enough of the bad, lets speed things up to the present good.

right now, I have a beutiful 4 month old baby...

a husband that is the most giving person ive ever met.. i love him so much

he hates pictures being taken.. we'll call him marlboro man.. lol
hes truly amazing... weve both found a person that we cant get enough of.. luckily its each other lol.

I have gone through sooo many changes this past year.. right now im sitting here just days away from my 1 year wedding anniversary. my daughter just turned four months old and is already saying dada.. shes the average weight of a one year old. lol... the only thing missing is a ranch. but hopefully with much work and deliberation, well make that happen this year. i love it.. my husband is truly amazing. my life has changed immensely. and i am full of gratitude and happiness.. what else matters?
